Award-winning musician Jah Prayzah has announced that his philanthropic organisation, the Mukudzeyi Mukombe Foundation, has been renamed to become the Wagwizi Community Foundation.
Wagwizi, a nickname adopted by the musician about two years ago, has become synonymous with his brand and the his ever growing community of supporters.
Speaking about the rebranding, Jah Prayzah said the new name reflects the foundation’s transition from a founder-centred identity to a community-driven movement.
“Wagwizi embodies unity, solidarity and collaborative growth. It places our community at the heart of everything we do.
“The name Wagwizi Community Foundation reinforces that this organisation belongs to the people. It is driven by the community, for the community,” he said.
Jah Prayzah added that the foundation’s core values which are transparency, accountability and a commitment to creating positive change, remain unchanged.
“All current community projects and partnerships will continue uninterrupted. Thank you for walking this journey with us. Together, as the Wagwizi Community Foundation, we will reach greater heights and change more lives,” he said.
The foundation was officially launched in 2025 with a mission to improve vulnerable lives through education, healthcare, youth empowerment and community development.
It aims to create sustainable social impact by supporting vulnerable communities and providing opportunities that improve livelihoods.
At its launch, Jah Prayzah said the foundation represented his desire to be remembered not only for his music but also for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives through community service.
