JAH Prayzah is convinced that he will scoop all four awards at the National Art Merit Awards (Nama) and will use his show in Bulawayo on Saturday night to celebrate the win with his fans.Jah Prayzah and the Third Generation will perform at Club Royal after attending the Nama at Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel the same evening.

In an interview with Chronicle Entertainment yesterday, the buoyant manager of the Tsviriyo hit maker, Filda “Mother Filda” Muchabaiwa said they were coming to Bulawayo to win the awards and celebrate with fans.

Jah Prayzah was nominated in four categories, Outstanding Song, Outstanding Male Musician, Outstanding Music Video and Outstanding Album.

“We are coming to scoop the four awards we were nominated in. Soon after the ceremony we will move to Club Royal for a show, where we will celebrate with our beloved fans,” she said.

Muchabaiwa said Jah Prayzah was in the rehearsal room fine tuning his act for Saturday.
“We promise fans the best as this is the first show this year. We shall be belting out tunes that shot him to stardom and others that favourites for the fans,” she said.

Jah Prayzah can also walk away with five awards if he wins the People’s Choice Award that is done through an SMS voting system.
Last year Jah Prayzah thrilled a plus 300 strong crowd at Club Royal when his group brought out rifles, did a quick and slow march, emulating the Zimbabwe National Army during a pulsating show.

The guns were in a blue bag that was brought on stage and revellers wondered what was next. When the bag was unzipped, it revealed nine rifles much to the amazement of the crowd. The rifles had no magazines and their source is still a mystery.

Jah Prayzah, a seasoned performer, has so far released four albums, Rudo Nerunyararo (2009), Sungano Yerudo (2007), Ngwarira Kuparara (2011) Miridzo (2012) and Tsviriyo (2013).

He rose to prominence with songs such as Gochi Gochi, Maria, Sungano, Tsviriyo and Sorry Mama. Jah Prayzah has done a number of collaborations with local artistes who include Sulumani Chimbetu on his Sean Timba (Batai Munhu) song as well as with Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi and Progress Chipfumo on songs Cecilia and Yambuka Rukova.
