A TEAM of medical practitioners from Jason Ziyaphapha Moyo (JZM) Air Force Base has been deployed to conduct a medical outreach at Ordoff Clinic in Sanyati, providing free healthcare services to over 200 individuals.
The outreach, which ends today, is part of the Base’s contribution to the annual “Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Community Assistance Week”.
Community Assistance Week is an important period on ZDF’s calendar as it strengthens ties between the defence forces and the communities.
JZM is located in Sanyati District.

JZM Base Commander Air Commodore Ellen Chiweshe, who joined the team on Thursday, said health care was a critical basic need that should be given access to everyone.
“With this deliberate medical outreach programme, our team, led by a medical doctor, was deployed on July 20 to today,” she said.
“During this whole week, our medical team was offering basic outpatient services that comprise BP checking, diabetes checking, basic diagnosis of various ailments and consultation with a medical doctor.”

The team also referred various critical cases to Kadoma General Hospital for further management.
During the outreach, JZM medical team also carried out drug and substance abuse and mental health campaigns.
“I want to commend that as the ZDF, we encourage everyone to shun drug and substance abuse,” she said.
The outreach was also made possible through the help of Natpharm and Kadoma General Hospital.
Beneficiaries, Ms Plaxidia Banda and Mr Aaron Bhishati commended the ZDF as the outreach made it easy for them to be examined by a medical doctor, a rare opportunity for most rural community members.
JZN medical doctor, Kevin Kamuriwo said at least 250 patients had been assisted since Sunday.
