DANCEHALL artist Jay C has returned to the music scene after a six-month break with the release of a song dubbed Ndakahwina.
The song marks a milestone in his career as he took time off to focus on his marital life and personal growth as a musician.
In an interview, Jay C’s producer, Trinnie Beatz, said the break served as a period of reflection for the artist.
He said Jay C was currently working on a five-track EP, which is set to be released in July.
“During his time away, Jay C took the opportunity to delve deep into his artistry and perfect his work.
“He wanted to showcase his growth and maturity as a musician and the song is a testament to that journey.
“The singer recently got married and it’s no secret that he took quite some time searching for a wife.
“He, therefore, had to excuse himself from the music scene to devote his time into the marriage.”
He added:
“We are very excited about the EP as he has poured his heart and soul into this project, and his fans can expect a fresh sound that reflects his growth as both an artist and an individual.
“We believe it will resonate with listeners on a deeper level,” said Trinnie.
