JAYDEN “JB” BARAKI’S dream of playing for Dynamos is set to finally come true this afternoon when the Glamour Boys entertain Cranborne Bullets at the National Sports Stadium.
The 20-year-old forward took a roundabout route despite coming through the club’s junior ranks.
Last season he was forced to look elsewhere for opportunities to play in the Castle Lager Premiership.
The now relegated Whawha FC came to his rescue and he scored nine goals to take the Most Promising Player gong at the league’s annual awards.
Several PSL clubs were after his signature, in the transfer window.
Dynamos made him their primary target and he was signed together with Nyasha Chintuli and Elie Ilunga, who are still yet to hit the target.
He was made to wait this long due to a long negotiation process with his former paymasters, Whawha, who were demanding a fair share since the hitman had a contract, which was expected to run down at the end of next season.
Bakari said he is keen to make his mark at his dream club.
“My heart has never left this club and I was really hurt when I left the club because I had no option, it was the best move that time.
“But, the good thing is that I am back and I had many offers which I turned down because of the love I have for this team.
“I can’t wait to get the opportunity to play and it’s my wish to make an impact on my debut if I get the chance but what matters at the moment is the performance of the team.”
He added:
“I’m happy that I’m now cleared to play, it’s something which was bothering me a lot.
“As strikers, we have targets to chase and you don’t go after them when you are in the stands.
“It’s good that I’m now in a position to fight for my spot and help the club by scoring as many goals as possible.”
The Glamour Boys have also received a boost ahead of this fixture with the inclusion of skipper, Frank Makatati, and the impressive midfielder, Donald “Kante” Mudadi, in the squad.
The duo was pulled out in their goalless stalemate against Simba Bhora last weekend after a nasty collision.
