SUPERSTAR Alick Macheso has urged motorists to exercise caution during the holidays and save lives.
He made the call on the sidelines of his show held on Good Friday’s eve at Club Las Vegas.
“During the Easter holidays, there is a lot of merry-making and unplanned travelling, especially when people are under the influence of alcohol.
“This has led to accidents as most people will be drinking as well while they are driving.
“Drunkenness affects judgment and vision, which calls for motorists to exercise caution. Those travelling in groups should engage sober drivers to avoid unnecessary loss of life.”
Macheso urged people to party responsibly. “As we celebrate the holidays, we should also remember that we have kids in school who need to be looked after.
“We should also learn to save money to ensure that we don’t put the future of our kids in jeopardy.
“We need to start preparing for the second term now because winter wear will be needed soon,” he said. Macheso hailed his army of fans for their loyalty at a time when most artists are struggling to woo big crowds.
“I am really humbled by the turnout at our shows, which shows that people have a lot of faith in us.
