A jealous Inyathi man beat up his ex-wife, stripped her naked and poured opaque beer on her for dumping him.
The incident happened at Mahamba Business Centre in Inyathi on Saturday last week.
It is reported that on the day in question, Bruce Sibanda (27) was drinking beer at Mahamba Business Centre when his estranged wife Sehliselo Mpofu (25) arrived in the company of an unknown man.
Sibanda approached the two and asked to talk to his ex-wife outside the bar and she agreed.
Sibanda accused her of infidelity and a misunderstanding reportedly ensued. Sibanda, in a fit of anger assaulted Mpofu with fists and booted feet all over the body.
The daring Sibanda also kicked her private parts while cursing.
He then stripped her naked and poured opaque beer all over her body.
As a result of the attack she suffered injuries on the head and bruises.
She was ferried to Inyathi District Hospital for treatment.
For the offence Sibanda appeared before Nkayi resident magistrate Temba Chimiso.
He pleaded not guilty to an assault charge but was sentenced to 12 months of which three months were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
Nine months of theA� sentence were suspended on condition that he performs 315 hours of community service at Inyathi courts.
