Suluman Chimbetu.
Tonight they will be at the Jazz 105 and tomorrow the two will take their act to Mushandirapamwe Night Club in Highfield, where Jean is expected to play some songs from her second album, “Africa”.
The album, which is due for release early next month, was recorded at KDN Studios owned by Knowledge Nkoma, the Orchestra Dendera Kings manager.
Sister Jean has not let the death of her father, Josphat Masters, affect her career, and she is set to prove that and wow her fans on stage this weekend in the two shows.
The afro jazz artiste is not new in the music sector and she has featured in a number of shows, among them the Winter Jazz Festival held last month.
Her debut “Nhapi” did well on the market, and has been receiving rave reviews in both print and broadcasting media.
Sister Jean said partnering Sulu in live gigs, would boost her confidence, while giving an opportunity to learn a thing or two on live performances.
“I promise fans fireworks at the show. I am also going to sing a new song that features Dino Mudondo, Valor and Suluman Chimbetu,” she said.
On the other hand, Suluman – who is popularly known as “Mwana WeDangwe” or simply Sulu – is in a class of his own judging by the stellar performance at the family show held in Harare Gardens last weekend.
Sulu is currently riding high with his album “Non-Stop”, which contains songs like “Dzamutsana” and “Kwedu”, which have gone on to be chart toppers on the airwaves.
The “Kwedu” hitmaker promised fans a show that will be full of entertainment and surprises.
“I am going to give revellers value for their money and fans should expect new songs and new dances at the show,” he said.
