Jets out to make more friends, network

SOCIAL football club, Jets FC’s secretary, Godfrey Gwati, believes hosting visiting clubs makes the league more enjoyable.

Many social league clubs party with visiting teams after all their matches.

Jets, who are based in Chinhoyi, were established in 2009, and are not affiliated to any social league.

They were once registered in the Maboozer Akarongeka Social League, which was sponsored by Pacific Storm, two seasons ago.

“We are a group of people who enjoy spending our weekends travelling and getting a feel of social football outside Chinhoyi,” said Gwati.

“We enjoy hosting visiting teams for drinks after games.

“We are treated in the same way when we travel to play other teams.

“It’s something unique about the boozers and, at the end of the day, the scoreline doesn’t matter because it’s all about networking and socialising through football.”
