A CHIMANIMANI man took his own life after discovering that his wife was cheating on him. Chipinge District police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera, confirmed the incident which occurred on February 8 at Nyarurwa Village. “The late Funwell Chinehwaro (35) had an altercation with his wife, Loveness Gambiza (30) over infidelity allegations. On February 7, the two fought at night after Funwell questioned Loveness about the affair she was having with a local man. The following morning Funwell disappeared from home without talking to anyone. After he went missing for some days, his brother, Farai Chinehwaro filed a police report of a missing person at Chimanimani Police Station,” he said.
After a few days Chinehwaro’s mother, Emelda Marwei (72) who had gone to the fields found his son’s body at an advanced stage of decomposition.
In an unrelated incident a 69-year-old Chipinge man, Naison Komichi, had a misunderstanding with his daughter, Beauty which resulted in him hanging himself on a roof truss.
The incident occurred in Isisi Village under Chief Musikavanhu.
After having a misunderstanding with her father, Beauty saw a note the following morning which directed her to visit the granary and she found him hanging from the roof truss.
The matter was reported to the police.
