A 36-YEAR-OLD married Plumtree man went berserk and damaged his 19-year-old girlfriend’s property after she told him she no longer loved him.
Gerald Mwanza who could not stomach being ditched, stormed Primrose Ndlovu’s home and started behaving strangely.
The court heard Ndlovu fled in fear when a livid Mwanza went on the rampage, pouring a concoction of water, cooking oil and mealie-meal onto her blankets before destroying her kitchen utensils.

Plumtree magistrate, Gideon Ruvetsa ordered Mwanza to pay $100 or spend 20 days in prison.
Prosecuting Medica Tshuma said: “On March 11 Mwanza proceeded to the complainant’s house. He attempted to beat her up but she ran away.

“Mwanza then made a mixture of mealie-meal, water and cooking oil and poured it onto the complainant’s bed. He also smashed her kitchen utensils. The complainant reported the matter to the police leading to Mwanza’s arrest.”
In his defence Mwanza said the property which he destroyed belonged to him.
