DEFENDING champions Jiri FC believe they can still clinch the Domboshava Zonal League title despite being one point adrift of log leaders Diesel FC.
The league has 22 teams dotted around Domboshava.
The Domboshava Zonal League started in 1998 and Jiri have been part of it since its inception.
Team co-founder and part sponsor, Munyaradzi Nharuvinga, believes social football is impacting positively in their community.
“The major thrust of establishing this team was for social entertainment in the form of football.
“It’s not a secret that football has a bigger following in our communities by people of all age groups.
“This is the reason some ladies are part of our structures.
“A good example is Gogo Nharuvinga, who is our team matron.
“It also keeps youths occupied, meaning they stay away from drug abuse and indulging in criminal activities,” said Nharuvinga.
Jiri also have a ladies’ team.
