Josiah Chinamano dominate table tennis tourney

If one was such a fan of table tennis, Bulawayo’s Drill Hall was the place to be where five primary schools contested in the Bulawayo Table Tennis Association (BTTA) provincial closed tournament that took place on Friday.

Speaking to Sunday News, the BTTA technical director, Prosper Jaya said the tournament was a build up to the national provincial tournament to be hosted by Bulawayo in August.

Josiah Chinamano dominated in the games. In the Under-10 boys’ category, with winner was Sandile Chigwedere from Josiah Chinamano with team mate Mlungisi Ngono coming second and Ronald Moyo from Newmansford coming third. Zandile Ncube from Hugh Beetle won the Under-12 girls title with teammate Nyemwerai Mandizha second and Yolanda Dabengwa from Newmanford third.

In the boys Under-12 section, Blessing Sibanda (Josiah Chinamano) came first, Russle Phiri (Newmansford ) came second and Malvin Nyeve (Hugh Bettle) was third. Luyanda Sibanda (Josiah Chinamano won the girls Under-15 crown with team mate Oletta Mlotshwa coming second and Tatenda Gonzo from Girls College coming third. In the Under-18s, Laurel Bhasera, Mutsavashe Kasipo (second) and Tinotendaishe Munzanga (third). The trio is from Girls College.
