Joy as Gnotse returns home

THE youngest daughter of legendary musician Blondie Makhene who was reported missing last week has returned home. Sowetan reported two weeks ago about the disapearance of Gontse Makhene, sister of SABC1 soapie star Letoya Makhene.

Letoya, who stars as Tshidi on SABC1’s “Generations: The Legacy”, lamented on social media that the family was desperate to locate her sibling. On Gontse’s birthday this month, she posted on Instagram: “On this day, 28 years ago . . . our mother, Agnes, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl . . . they named her Gontse. We’ve been trying to get hold of her for weeks, with no luck.”

However, on Friday Letoya’s tears turned into a joyous mood as she posted on Instagram again, this time thanking her followers for praying for Gontse’s safe return.

“She’s home. Thank you for all your support and prayers . . . ”

Recently, Letoya revealed in a magazine that Gontse was struggling with substance addiction. She sang with her sisters Pauline, Letoya, and cousin Nicky in an all-girl group called Skool Girlz. – Sowetan.
