YOUTHS in Mashonaland East Province could not hide their joy on Tuesday when they received tractors and farming equipment from President Mnangagwa in Marondera to boost farming activities.
The youths took delivery of farming equipment which include tractors, harrows, planters and trailers, as the Second Republic continues to bring in interventions aimed at empowering the youth.
The handover ceremony was officiated by the Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Advocate Itayi Ndudzo, who implored beneficiaries to use the equipment responsibly.
“I am assured that there was a meticulous process of identifying the intended beneficiaries, and these should be the people wo are able to produce even without equipment. I can imagine now what they can do with all this equipment,” he said.
“I have been assured that the beneficiaries will put this equipment to good use. And I want to urge the beneficiaries to be productive.
“As a province, we thank our President, Dr ED Mnangagwa, for championing youth empowerment.

“This equipment should empower you and enable you to contribute to the attainment of Vision 2030. Use the equipment productively.”
Advocate Ndudzo thanked President Mnangagwa for his commitment towards youth empowerment.
Cde Lewis Musonza said he was happy to receive the tractor and will use it to boost agriculture.
“Thank you, President Mnangagwa for always remembering the youth. I am from Hwedza and we do a lot farming there,” he said.
“This equipment has come at the right time and we will take agriculture to another level. Our President is a listening President.
“Whenever we table our challenges before him, he surely addresses them. He is a man of his word and for that we humbly commend and thank him.”
Cde Ronnie Sapai from Mudzi was all smiles as he received the keys to the tractor from Advocate Ndudzo.
“As youths from Mudzi district, we have abundant joy, thanks to our able leader, President Mnangagwa who has youths at heart,” he said.
“We have plots in Mudzi, and these tractors came at an opportune time since we are now in the rainy season.

“We are going to do wonders in our fields and ensure the district is food secure. Nothing will stop us. If you have a hardworking President, then one is automatically motivated to be hard working also. As youths, we emulate or President who is a hard worker.”
He implore other youths to use the equipment productively.
“Let us make our leaders proud. Let us be focused and disciplined. We are the future leaders and we should show that we are capable,” said Cde Sapai.
Cde Magret Nyerere from Marondera weighed in saying President Mnangagwa does not disappoint.
“He is always there for us youths. We were given plots, residential stands, and now tractors as well as a borehole drilling rig.
“What more would we want. This is empowerment which has come because our President loves the youth. President Mnangagwa is a listening President. At this pace, we are surely going to attain Vision 2030. We say to President Mnangagwa, please continue to be
a listening President and keep on empowering youths,” said Cde Nyerere.
