Joyous Celebration fever grips SA gospel lovers

happy with the news that the multi-award-winning troupe is hitting the road soon to celebrate its 15th anniversary.
Yes, there have been other choirs that have given Joyous Celebration a good run for its money – such as the Tshwane Gospel Choir and Soweto Gospel Choir.
But when it comes to the number of followers, and as a solid brand, Joyous Celebration stands considerably above the others.
This recognition is as a result of the 14 years of hard work the choir and its producers put into the brand – and are now reaping the benefits of.
Titled My Gift to You, the 2011 Joyous Celebration tour is sure to get believers and worshippers begging for more. The concerts will feature a wide spectrum of songs delivered in the vernacular as well as English and Afrikaans.
With this tour Joyous Celebration has also announced its new sponsor, MTN, who will take it through the national celebration of My Gift To You.
For Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer of MTN SA, the sponsorship is a joyful reunion with an iconic South Africa musical talent.
The first stop for My Gift To You will be the South African State Theatre in Pretoria, with a whopping six shows scheduled from April 21 to 24. Tickets retail at from R150 to R300 via Computicket and bookings are now open.
Following the Pretoria concert, the next stop for the MTN Joyous Celebration tour will be the East London Christian Centre on June 3. Other venues to be visited include: the Centenary Hall in Port Elizabeth on June 4; the Grand West Arena in Cape Town on July 2; the ICC Arena in Durban on July 30; and the last stop in Bloemfontein in August. – Sowetan.
