adminLONDON. — John Terry has posted a tribute to Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson. The Chelsea captain (35) revealed that he met the Scot when he was just 14, posing with the Premier League and FA Cup trophies after they won the Double in 1993-94. Terry, who has played 707 matches for the Blues and won 14 major trophies with the club, was actually a Manchester United fan growing up.And he was close to signing for them as a teenager.
On his Instagram page, Terry posted a picture of him with his parents alongside Fergie and the two trophies.
Terry wrote the caption: “Flashback to a young 14-year-old JT.
“Who would have thought I would go onto win four Premier Leagues and five FA Cups.
“I have so much respect for Sir Alex Ferguson and will never forget what he done for me and my family.”
Plenty of fans questioned what that might have been.
It was the way that Ferguson treated Terry and his family when the manager was trying to convince the teenage defender to move to Old Trafford rather than Stamford Bridge.
Speaking in an interview with The Guardian in 2006, Terry revealed all.
“I was Man United growing up,” he said.
“You know what it’s like when you’re a boy, you want to support the team that’s winning everything.” — The Sun.
