JUDGE President Justice Mary Zimba-Dube yesterday ordered the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) not to recall expelled interim secretary-general Senator Sengezo Tshabangu from Parliament until his High Court application challenging his dismissal is heard.
Senator Tshabangu approached the High Court seeking an order to prevent his recall, citing his party, the Speaker of Parliament, and the President of the Senate as the first, second, and third respondents respectively.
The Speaker of Parliament’s lawyers acknowledged the order.
In the declarator matter, the respondents are required to file their opposing papers by the end of Tuesday, 4 March 2025, while the applicants must file their answering affidavit and heads of argument by close of business on Monday, 10 March 2025.
The matter has been set down for hearing on 13 March, 2025.
Senator Tshabangu has cited Mr Sesel Zvidzai, Ms Concillia Chinanzvavana, Mr Gilbert Kadogora, Mr Shepherd Mushonga, and the CCC as the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth respondents, respectively.
The four individuals were members of the disciplinary committee that expelled him.
