JUMBO Queens’ fine form continues unabated in the Bulawayo Province Netball League with Kensington their latest victims after they pummelled them 88-11 in a match played over the weekend.It was a two-player affair in the scoring charts as Letwine Maziri and Lilian Magutha scored 49 and 39 goals respectively.
Head coach Trust Chinongo was in buoyant mood after the convincing win.
“We played well and it was a good game, now we shift focus to our next match, as we want to continue with our fine form,” said Chinongo.
Chinongo is positive that if they manage to beat Mighty Queens in their next fixture it can be a major boost to their championship chase and Super League promotion.
“My team is improving, so if we can manage to win against Mighty Queens then overall we will be on course to challenge for the championship and Super League,” he said.
High flying Ntutu Sparrows accounted for struggling Phakamani 66-11.
Phakamani are yet to collect a point this season.
Railstars edged Ntabazinduna Prison 43-18 while Unit Fairbridge made light work of Zimpost to win 33-19. Free Stars and Mighty Queens’ match was postponed as they provided a large number of players to the Bulawayo Youth Games netball team which is already in camp at Eveline High School.
“Our players are in camp as we speak so we decided to cancel the match,” said Free Stars coach Lisa Mangena who is also the provincial Youth Games team manager.
