Miss Curvy finalists that have camped in Harare ahead of the grand finale set for Kariba next month will be treated to a massive farewell bash at Junction 24 on July 26.
Junction 24 director Tavepi Madzingira said they would host the curvaceous models for the send-off party that is set to ignite the spacious entertainment joint in a big way.
About 20 models have qualified for the national finals and they will have a dance with Harare’s pageant lovers before leaving for Kariba.
“This is an important event for us because we are determined to promote the arts in all genres. We want to be a window through which artists can express themselves and reach out to their target audience in an emphatic manner,” said Madzingira.
“Come join us and say goodbye and good luck to our final contestants before they go into camp.
The day and night will be packed by fun activities; dance, catwalk, fun games as well as Carex and Tripple Ice promotions. We have Sonia Events doing a wedding decor mini demo all day. Please make Table reservations to guarantee a seat. There is no cover charge.”
Miss Curvy is held by Zim Gossip with an aim of affording models that might not fit in the prescriptions of common pageants a chance to show their skills.
Zim Gossip director Mercy Mushaninga said they were looking forward to a better and bigger event this year.
“We have partnerships with a number of organisations that support this idea. We have our way of defining beauty and the pageant will go a long way in changing perceptions about modelling,” said Mushaninga.
“We are geared for the event and we have taken in to a tourist resort so that we exhibit our unique pageant to local and international tourists most of whom are used to the traditional pageants.
“It is good that we will have the farewell party in Harare at Junction 24 so that pageant fans in the capital would have a chance to mix and mingle with the models before they leave for their camp in Kariba. The final promises fireworks.”
