Junior athletes brace for World U20 Champs

NINE junior athletes are stepping up their preparations for this year’s edition of the World Athletics Under-20 Championships scheduled for August 5 to 9 in the United States.

The National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe are looking more on the relays this time around, and are hoping to field the men’s 4x400m and 4x400m mixed relay teams at the championships.

Besides relays, the team also has 400m runner Ropafadzo Mzondo and Tatenda Chindowa, who is set to participate in high jump.

The team will be led by coach Aaron Whyte, who is working with most of the athletes in Harare.

Anesu Nyahuma, Nataly Shoko, Ropafadzo Mzondo, Gift Khumalo, Nenyasha Chihora, Malachi Mafunga, Emmanuel Uriga, Alvin Simon, Tatenda Chindowa.
