approached while campaigning for a parliamentary seat.
Irene (19) said she had a number of failed attempts when she started approaching organisations to fund her charity programme, but hails Mushore who assisted her with the money last week.
“I have approached several companies and organisations to assist me with funds so that I could help children and people in need. All the organisations did not respond to my request until I met one such Godly man, Godfrey Mushore, who handed me US$400 for my project.
“This is the moment I have been yearning for ever since I was sworn in as an MP. Now I want to prove that teens can also help vulnerable people in our midst,” said Irene.
Irene, a Form Four student at Highfield Mhuriimwe Secondary School, aims to reach out to other less privileged O-Level students in rural areas.
She said her donation will fulfil the objectives of the Junior Parliament which runs under the theme “The rights of children living with disabilities, the duty to protect, respect and fulfil.”- CL Reporter.
