Celebrate diversity

varied, it can also be better put to mean widely different.
Though humans know how widely diverse we are as people we seem not able to easily accept this fact and integrate it as our way of our life. Instead most people are afraid of differences; they resent people who are different from them.

Humans have created stereotypes which creates an inherent animosity in diversity.
This is simply because we do not have an appreciation of what diversity means and how it can make our lives much better off.
Exceptionally great things happen to mankind, whenever humans decide to embrace and celebrate diversity than to thwart and suppress it. The opposite has happened where humans have failed to appreciate diversity.

Psychology has proved that a lot of people are comfortable with people who are similar to them but are uneasy in the presence of people who exhibit any slight difference from them. It is this human psychology that has resulted in a lot of stereotype that exist today, though untrue.
Women will say this about men, while men will say that about women. Some of the things they say might have been true regarding the people that they met before but not the ones in their presence then.

Their past experience with people of a similar nature has created a disposition of mistrust in them which leads to them establishing stereotypes and shunning them without even giving the new people a chance to prove themselves.

Some people are naturally afraid of diversity. They see any difference in view as a direct opposition to them which is why they react by opposing any diversity that may arise.
Diversity is another constant of life. It will always exist where people live together unless and only if you decide to isolate yourself and live in solitude.
Diversity is becoming much strongly expressed now when people desire to come out to their true self more and more.

Learn how to embrace it, welcome it, encourage it and manage it, if you want to achieve success in cooperating with people to attain goals and visions.
Diversity is not encouraged to be embraced just for the sake of it. There are many great spin offs that come from embracing and celebrating diversity.

Diversity results in less conflicts among a group of any people working together which means they will be united in working together towards the common goal.
Diversity brings different experiences and backgrounds which enhances and enriches our general understanding of humans of similar backgrounds.
That will help you to demystify all stereotypes that heavily weigh on our relations.

Diversity brings different skills and expertise which makes the team stronger. Humans also become complementary in any organisation and realise the fundamental truth that, “I am because we are”. There is always someone who has a skill, knowledge or expertise you direly need ignored to achieve your goal. If you don’t manage diversity well, you might as well forget gaining any valuable help from them.

Diversity breaks monotony. It makes life more lively and colourful. Imagine if the rainbow was just one colour, would it be as nice. Whatever colour it was going to be, even if it was your favourite colour; it wouldn’t be a rainbow if it was just a bow of one colour.

Similarly different characters are needed in any group to make the group more lively and colourful; all they need is to manage their diversity well and never try to outshine the other.

The bible also confirms how good life becomes if we learn to manage diversity. It says in Psalms 133 verse 1, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

We don’t always have to be the same in order to work together and achieve. In fact most of the things we need in life requires a healthy diversity if they are to be achieved.
Use that building example again. The foundation of a house is a good illustration of how diversity creates something much stronger than the individual parts.

Can you imagine a building foundation made entirely of concrete, or sand or just water? Would it be a foundation? Yet it is very simple for concrete to think that he does not need sand and he can do it all alone.

As you develop make an effort to absolve yourself of all previous fear you had of differences, you will realise that diversity is actually something to embrace rather than fear.
Till next week, God Bless you all.
