JUST IN: 28 more succumb to Covid-19

THE Covid-19 death toll has risen to 1 103 after 28 more people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

Statistics from the Ministry of Health and Child Care show that 358 people also tested positive to the global pandemic, all local residents and the majority being from Harare.

The 28 deaths were recorded in Bulawayo (2), Harare (13), Matabeleland North (3), Mashonaland West (3), Mashonaland Central (2), Mashonaland West (2), Masvingo (1) and Midlands (2) provinces.

During the last 24 hours, 536 new recoveries were also recorded countrywide which brings the total number of active cases to 7 488.

“As at 26 January 2021, Zimbabwe had 32 004 confirmed cases, including 23 413 recoveries and 1 103 deaths,” said the Ministry.
