JUST IN: First Lady embarks on festive season road safety campaign

The First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa, in conjunction with the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Republic Police today began a road safety awareness campaign in the run-up to the festive season.

Road traffic accidents claim hundreds of lives and leave hundreds more injured during the festive season annually.

Her first port of call was at the Harare South tollgate on the Harare-Masvingo highway.Amai Mnangagwa is engaging drivers, conductors and travellers stressing the need to observe safety.She is scheduled to visit several tollgates engaging transporters and drivers about safety and sharing hints with them on how to reduce road carnage.Road users have welcomed the initiative by the First Lady.
