THE country has reported four more Covid-19 related deaths and 33 new cases in the last 24-hour reporting cycle, bringing the total number of cases to 36 148.
The seven-day rolling average for new cases fell to 34 from 36 on Tuesday.
All the 26 new cases are local transmissions.
A total of 84 new recoveries were recorded and the national recovery rate stands at 91,1 percent.
A total of 2 207 PCR tests were conducted yesterday and positivity was 1,5 percent.
“As at 02 March 2021, Zimbabwe had 36 148 confirmed cases, including 32 989 recoveries and 1 472 deaths,” said the Ministry of Health and Child Care in its daily update.
According to the Ministry, the deaths were reported in Harare which had three and Manicaland with one.
Harare also had the highest number of new cases with 10 while Bulawayo, Mashonaland East, and Midlands reported no new cases.
“As of March 2, 2021, at 3PM, there were 117 hospitalised people of which four patients were admitted in intensive care units (ICU) while 34 had mild to moderate symptoms. Five had severe symptoms while 74 were asymptomatic.
Active cases went down to 1 687.
A total of 1 556 frontline workers were vaccinated bringing the total to 25 077.
