JUST IN: Mighty Warriors reach semi-final

THE Mighty Warriors became the fourth and final team in the semi-final of the Cosafa Women’s Championship after a 1-1 draw with Botswana at Dobsonville Stadium in South Africa Wednesday afternoon.

The Mighty Warriors will now meet Zambia in Friday’s semi-final.

Needing just one point to win Group C, the Mighty Warriors did themselves a huge favour by storming into a fourth minute lead.

Ennety Chemhere headed home a corner in what was an immediate reward to coach Shadreck Mlauzi’s decision making.

Mlauzi made two changes to his starting line-up for the decider against Botswana, bringing in Ennety Chemhere to partner Christabel Katona in attack.

Chemhere replaced Shyline Dambamuromo while Alice Moyo came in place of the suspended Vimbai Mharadzi in midfield.

Botswana equalised in the 85^th minute, capitalising on a defensive lapse and setting the stage for a nervy finish.

Despite five minutes being added on, there was little danger on the Mighty Warriors and Priviledge Mupeti was crowned Player of the Match.
