JUST IN: Police seek help to identify dead woman

POLICE in Bulawayo have appealed to members of the public to help identify the woman who was found dead yesterday morning at the corner of George Silundika and 10th Avenue in the city centre.

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube said the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found barefooted and lying lifeless face down.

He said the body was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals and is awaiting identification.

“On the 21st of June 2021 police received information that there was a female adult lying on the pavement showing no signs of life. The scene was attended and observations made were that the now deceased was wearing soiled clothes and bare footed lying facing downwards. The body was ferried to United Bulawayo Hospitals where it was certified dead and investigations are in progress.

“We urge members of the public with a missing female relative around 30 years to go to united Bulawayo hospitals and identify the body,” said Insp Ncube.
