JUST IN: Unattended sewer bursts irk Warren Park residents

Harare’s Warren Park residents risk being exposed to water borne diseases due to continous sewer bursts that have gone for more than a week unattended.

Our news crew observed a perennial sewage flow along 23rd Cresent.

The sewage also passes through a saddle lane where vendors were observed selling green produce at ease despite the buzzing flies all over the vegetable market.

Sewer bursts have become a common feature in most suburbs across the city.

A resident, Mr Lovemore Mumba said the local authority should not take residents for a ride.

“The sewage has been flowing here for more than a week now and nothing is being done,” he said. “Imagine, children will be playing on the streets barefooted.”

Another resident, Mr Divine Kurungwa blamed the local authority for failing to repair the sewer pipes.
