JUST IN: Woman loses US$20 850 to armed robbers

A WOMAN lost US$20 850 and other valuables after eight gun brandishing men attacked her at home while she was with her daughter.

Police confirmed the incident which occurred on Monday at around 8PM in Unit B Seke in Chitungwiza.

“Police in Chitungwiza are investigating an armed robbery case which occurred on 19 July at around 8PM. Eight unknown men who were armed with unidentified pistols stormed a house in Unit B Seke and attacked the complainant and her daughter before stealing US$20 850, a Tecno cellphone and HP laptop. Investigations are underway,” said the police on Tweeter.

The police have urged members of the public to desist from storing large sums of money in their homes as they become a target of robbers.

In another incident police have warned the public in Harare against boarding an unregistered Toyota Wish with three occupants including the driver. The suspects are offering unsuspecting members of the public lifts and later rob them of their valuables after diverting off the route.
