YOUNG Warriors forward Tino Kadewere has agreed a three-year deal with Djurgardens IF after the top Swedish soccer side was impressed by the 19-year-old during a short loan spell. Kadewere’s manager Gibson Mahachi yesterday confirmed that the lanky former Harare City player, who has been on loan to the European side since August this year, will not be returning home anytime soon after taking up the offer.
The three-year deal will be effective starting January next year. Mahachi said the player was excited by the development and his handlers were yesterday tying up some loose ends with Djurgardens IF sporting director Bo Anderson. Kadewere’s loan deal was expected to expire next month.
“Obviously he (Kadewere) is excited by the development. He is a young player and he has done well to convince the side to give him a longer deal during this short stint he has had with them. “With age on his side this is a good deal for him.
He can only grow and develop into a big player that he can dream of. As for now he has to see his loan deal through until December,” said Mahachi. Kadewere, who hails from Egypt lines in Harare’s high-density suburb of Highfield, has played for Zimbabwe Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 teams. He made his first national team appearance for the Warriors when Zimbabwe played Comoros in the CHAN qualifiers this year.
Kadewere’s career has blossomed in leaps and bounds this year. He had a flying start to the season with Harare City and in July this year he was invited for trials at Djurgaderns IF. He made his Allsvenskan debut on August 29 after he had impressed the team’s management following a trial stint.
The former Prince Edward schoolboy has featured for both the Djurgaderns IF senior side and their Under-21 team and has scored a couple of goals to match his industry. Djurgadens IF is the same side that Zimbabwe international Nyasha Mushekwi played for during a loan spell from South Africa’s Sundowns. However, the big striker has since returned to South Africa following the expiry of his loan deal.
