Twelve-year-old musician Alfred Makombe, popularly known as King Alfa Kadiki, has celebrated a major milestone after his latest offering, “Yadeuka Yadeuka”, surpassed one million views on YouTube within two weeks.
The young artiste has been receiving growing attention in the local music scene, with established musicians Holy Ten and Freeman among those who have shown appreciation for his work.
Produced by Major Terro and released under the Matrix Music Movement, “Yadeuka Yadeuka” has been gaining traction online, with its visuals also attracting praise for their quality and presentation.
King Alfa Kadiki said he was humbled by the overwhelming response to the song.
“I want to say thank you, Zimbabwe, for the love and support you have shown me. I am very grateful to everyone who has been supporting my music,” he said.
The youngster said reaching the one-million-view mark in such a short period had exceeded his expectations.
“I am happy that ‘Yadeuka Yadeuka’ has reached one million views in two weeks. This means a lot to me. I want to thank everyone who watched the video, shared it and supported the song,” Kadiki said.
At just 12 years old, Kadiki is already showing ambitions of establishing himself as a serious musician, with his latest release giving him a platform to reach audiences beyond his immediate surroundings.
He said the achievement had motivated him to work harder and produce more music for his growing fan base.
“This has encouraged me to keep working hard and to continue giving my supporters more music. I really appreciate everyone who has been part of this journey,” he said.
The youngster has also received a major endorsement from Holy Ten, who praised the song and its visuals.
“This song is a masterpiece. Well done young man, clean visuals, clean presentation,” Holy Ten said.
The hitmaker also pledged his support for the young musician and expressed hope that his talent would develop into a successful career.
“We will support you! May this talent turn into a generational success,” he said.
Freeman, another prominent figure in Zimbabwean music, also took note of the youngster’s work, describing “Yadeuka Yadeuka” as his new favourite sound.
“This is my new favourite sound. Big up Kadiki,” said Freeman.
The recognition from established artistes has given Kadiki further encouragement as he continues to navigate the industry at a remarkably young age.
Kadiki said he was particularly grateful to those who had helped spread the song and its visuals.
“To everyone who has been supporting me, thank you so much. I really appreciate you and I am grateful for your support,” he said.
The youngster’s team has been using digital platforms to push “Yadeuka Yadeuka”, with the one-million-view milestone coming just two weeks after its release.
For Kadiki, however, the achievement is not a reason to slow down but an opportunity to set bigger targets.
“I want to keep working hard and making my supporters proud. Thank you for the love and support. God bless you all,” he said.
As he continues to balance his childhood with his growing musical career, King Alfa Kadiki has already shown that age is not necessarily a barrier to making an impact.
With Holy Ten describing his work as a masterpiece and Freeman calling it his new favourite sound, the youngster has received an early vote of confidence from some of the country’s established artistes.
For the young Alfred Makombe, the one-million-view milestone could be the beginning of an even bigger journey in Zimbabwe’s music industry.
