FOR Dynamos attacking midfielder, Valentine Kadonzvo, Monday’s showdown with Premiership newsboys Mwos at Ngoni in the dormitory town of Norton is not just a match.

The match will mark a special moment in Kadonzvo’s football career as he is set to live his childhood dream.

Having begun his career in the dust streets of Norton, Kadonzvo always envisioned himself playing professional football in his own back-yard.

That dream will be fulfilled on Monday as Ngoni opens its doors to premiership football – an emotional return home.

“Playing in my hometown is an incredible feeling. It’s a dream fulfilled.

“I have always dreamt of this day to showcase my skills in front of family and friends,” said Kadonzvo.

“I am truly happy to represent Dynamos in Norton as it is my first time to play in front of my people and feel the support from local fans. It adds extra motivation to give my best on the pitch.”

Already rich in football talent, with the town having produced the likes of Takesure Chinyama, Knowledge Musona, Walter Musona, Eric Manokore, Emmanuel Jalai, Kudzai Chigwida among many others, the Norton born and bred player believes a door of opportunity will be opened to budding players from the town.

“The coming in of Premier Soccer League to Norton is a fantastic opportunity for young upcoming players.

“It will provide them with exposure to higher levels of competition and valuable learning experiences.

“Local talent will have the chance to showcase their skills and potentially attract attention from scouts.

“This is a chance our generation never had and it could inspire a new generation of players and elevate the standard of football in our community,” said Kadonzvo.

Dynamos have struggled in the opening stages of the season, but Kadonzvo is optimistic that the tables will turn for the better for the Harare giants, appealing to fans to be patient as the team gels into a formidable unit.

“I understand the slow start has been tough not only for our fans but for us as well.

“I promise that we will work hard to improve and find our rhythm. We are committed to giving our all in every match and making our supporters proud. Together we will turn things around,” he said.
