Kagawa opens up about Man Utd exit

SHINJI KAGAWA has aimed a dig at Manchester United and Louis Van Gaal after revealing his joy at returning to Borussia Dortmund.
The Japan international left the German giants to sign for Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012, but failed to make an impact in his two seasons at Old Trafford.

Kagawa, who scored 29 goals in 71 games during his first spell under Jurgen Klopp, found the back of the net just six times in 57 appearances for the Red Devils, and was subsequently moved on by new boss Louis Van Gaal.

The Dutchman bought a number of attacking players to United over the summer, including Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, and speaking in his first press conference since re-signing for Dortmund, Kagawa revealed that he didn’t feel wanted during his time in England.

He said: “The Premier League was a dream for me and I wanted to try and succeed there.

“However, now I am happy to be back at Dortmund with a great team, unique fans and fantastic surroundings.

“Being with Dortmund is like being with family.” —Express Sport
