Kagonye pens book in cells

JAILED former Deputy Minister, Petronella Kagonye, has penned a book on prayer while serving her sentence.

Kagonye told H-Metro, during a training workshop to empower inmates at Chikurubi Female Prison, she had come to the realisation that every situation is for a purpose.

“At first, I felt the pain, but I later accepted that my incarceration was an opportunity to have more time in prayer.

“I wrote a book on prayer.

“I got an opportunity to share my experiences with other inmates and learnt a lot from them as well.

“Prison is not good at all, but in one way or the other, someone ends up getting a feel of the cells,” said Kagonye.

She was in a jovial mood and got time to show her dancing antics to Suluman Chimbetu’s Batai Munhu song.

Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service Commissioner General’s wife, Marian Chihobvu, graced the workshop together with other senior female prison officers.
