KAINDU FULLY FOCUSED ON ZPC

DESPITE all the off-field talk and developments ahead of the match between Highlanders and ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields on Sunday, Kelvin Kaindu says his players are fully focused on that assignment.

During his weekly press briefing yesterday, Kaindu refused to talk about the off-field happenings at the club.

“I think it’s difficult to comment on something that is not directly linked to the technical aspect of football but is more on the administrative side of things.  For us, we are just looking forward to fulfilling our fixture and going out there to play,” said Kaindu.

The Zambian coach said preparations for the game were progressing smoothly.

“In terms of our preparations coming from a loss against FC Platinum, we are also trying to consider the change of the weather in this part of the country.

“We had minor knocks from the last game that we played.

“From that group which played in Zvishavane, it’s Godfrey Makaruse who is still doing light training but everyone else from the last game is in full training.

“I think despite us not picking positive results against FC Platinum l thought they dominated play in the first half and we dominated the second half,” said Kaindu.

He added:

“If l look at the first leg that we played in Kariba that was another game that we could have won but it’s unfortunate that we drew but we were stronger in the second half and we managed to equalise.

“Looking at the statistics, it’s not going to be easy for us but we need to keep our calm and composure.”
