Kaindu unfazed by big match

Sports Reporter
TRIANGLE coach Kelvin Kaindu says it will be business as usual when they meet champions Dynamos in a top-of-the-table league clash at Gibbo this afternoon. The Zambian mentor praised the champions ahead of their visit to the Lowveld. “The preparations have been okay. It is a big game for us playing the champions, a team which has won four league titles,” said Kaindu.

“They have the pedigree and have the advantage and we hope all people who will come will get value for their money. It should be an explosive match.

“But, for us, it is business as usual. The players are taking it like any other game.

“The most important thing is that they managed to get a result at the weekend and they have the pedigree to win many matches and can defend championship.

“But we are just looking at what we can also do and not what the opponents can do.”

His men have maintained consistency and are dark horses in the championship race.

The coach said they were battling to have Hillary Bakacheza cleared to play in the game.

“We hope it would be clearer by the end of the day as on the match day the player who was yellow carded is Charles Rukwani and not him, hopefully, they will try to sort it out,” he said.

And Dynamos assistant Gift “Umbro” Muzadzi believes Triangle’s success was hinged on the fact that they have been playing together for some time.

“It is not a side that we can think we can just go there and beat easily, we have to work hard if we want to win. They don’t give up easily.

“I was there for two years and it is good to be back at Triangle. I understand their culture.

“For the past two years when I was there their squad didn’t change much, they still have the same players and that is why they are doing very well.

“It is a game that both teams would be fighting to win. If we win it would be added advantage and we would be at par with Triangle. We are going to give them a good run for their money,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba face a How Mine still smarting from the embarrassing defeat at the hands of Highlanders over the weekend.

The miners were humbled 1-5.

The veteran coach, who is still winless in the league, would be hoping to finally get it right after an impressive show by his men in a losing cause against the champions on Sunday.

Club spokesperson Fadzai Chisveto said they didn’t give the coach any ultimatum to win two matches.

A source close to the club said the coach has been given the mandate to survive relegation for this season and then build a strong team next season.

Pacesetters Chicken Inn make a long trip to Mutare to face unpredictable Buffaloes.

Joey Antipas’ side won 3-0 in the reverse tie.

Harare City have a tricky away tie when they face Chapungu while there is a basement battle at Vengere when Dongo Sawmill host Flame Lily.
