Mighty Warriors coach Rosemary Mugadza yesterday said she will stick to the players she has in camp after the pair of goalkeeper Deliwe Makaha and defender Moleen Murandu excused themselves due to family commitments. The team started training on Monday and by the end of the day 20 players had reported for camp.
The trio of Berita Kabwe, Tafadzwa Tsunguro and Melody Musasa, who missed the first day of training, joined the team yesterday.
Mugadza said they will not be calling any replacements for the two players considering the time they are left with for the game slated for Sunday.
“Moleen is attending her mother’s memorial so she could not make it and Deliwe Makaha could not make it also because she has some problems as well, her mother is not feeling well.
“At this point I don’t think it’s necessary that we replace them because of the time that we have. Today is Tuesday (yesterday) and it’s not reasonable that we call new players.
“The ones that we have in camp are good enough,” said Mugadza.
The Mighty Warriors take on Cote d’Ivoire in the third round of the Olympic Games qualifiers return leg at Rufaro on Sunday.
The team had their morning training session at ZIFA Village before they moved to Rufaro.
Cote d’Ivoire are carrying a healthy a 3-0 lead after they were awarded the first leg tie when Zimbabwe failed to fulfil the fixture due to financial challenges.
Mugadza and her technical team have had to work with limited resources most of the times since they began their campaign early this year.
