DYNAMOS coach Kelvin Kaindu wants to see star midfielder Denver Mukamba playing more minutes and will utilise the current international break to condition him for that.

The Glamour Boys, still deep in the fall zone, are enjoying a new lease of life under Kaindu, who replaced Saul Chaminuka five weeks ago.

They have not only shown signs of life but have recovered so much ground in their fight against the chop.

Dynamos were in fact, the best-performing top-flight in August, Kaindu masterminding a whitewash after leading DeMbare to four wins in as many matches with two of his victims being title challengers MWOS and Scottland.

The two sides — Kwekwe United and GreenFuel are DeMbare’s rivals in the fight against relegation.

And central to the Dynamos revival series has been the maverick former Zimbabwe captain Mukamba, whose return to the club that gave him his fame, coincided with Kaindu’s appointment.

The lanky 2012 Castle Soccer Star of the Year had been without a team having been flushed out of Scottland at the beginning of the year.

As expected, he hasn’t been having so many minutes in the field, but his impact from the little time he has been getting has been enormous.

And Kaindu knows the talented midfielder can be central to what could be one of the most miraculous escape stories in domestic football history.

With no local games to plan for this coming weekend due to the FIFA international break in which the Warriors will be featuring in the 2026 World Cup, African Zone qualifiers, Kaindu wants to take full advantage of the recess.

“I think the momentum that we have has given us an advantage going into this (international) break.

“We need to work more on our training methods and condition everyone.

“It also gives us, I think a bit of time, to condition Denver more so that he can have more minutes to play.

“His quality and leadership are quite instrumental for our mission. He is a complete player and a leader,” Kaindu said.

Although they are still second-from-the-bottom with 28 points after 27 games, Dynamos have managed to take their destiny back into their own hands.

They have managed to score nine goals in four games, three more than what they got in the first 22 games of the season.

“We were not happy when the team scored just six goals in 22 games.

“It’s (goalscoring) a challenge that we gave to the team that you can’t play 22 games and score only six goals,” added Kaindu.

“And I said let’s try to score and always celebrate. We keep on pushing and I am challenging the team to work harder and this is what we expect.”

Mukamba has been pushing himself at training and says he wants to continue playing better for the sake of Dynamos and their fans whose love for him has blown him away.

“I would like to thank God for the talent that he gave me and the gift that has seen everyone loving me,” said Mukamba.

“My coach is always telling me to keep pushing myself and the youngsters.

“I give credit to those players because it’s not easy to lead them when you are not the official captain.

“But their character is out of this world. I am humbled and very happy.”

Dynamos will host Triangle at Rufaro in their next match when the Premiership programme resumes after the international break.

It will be a tough period thereafter for Kaindu and his men, who because of their precarious position, cannot afford any slip-up
