KALAWA Jazzmee Records ruled the roost at this year’s Metro FM Music Awards in South Africa, with the stable taking home eight accolades.
The awards ceremony was held on Saturday night in Durban under the theme “Celebrating 20 Years of Beat”. The biggest winners from the stable were Mafikizolo who walked away with Best Pop album and Best Produced Album for their album Reunited and Best Duo/ Group.
House trio, Uhuru won the song of the year for Y-Tjukutja and Best Collaboration.
Their hit song featuring Professor and Oskido has become the anthem at many parties and night spots in Zimbabwe.
Oskido won the Life Time Achievement Award together with playboy-cum-politician Robbie Malinga.
Other winners from the stable were Heavy K whose album Respect the Drumboss that has tracks such as Beautiful War won the Best Dance album and Character’s Out of Control that has tracks like Ixeba, won the Best Kwaito album.
