Harare magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo facing theft charges.
Mr Murendo remanded him out of custody to March 26 on US$100 bail.
He was ordered not to interfere with State witnesses and to continue residing at his given address until the matter is finalised.
The complainant is Cde Kumbirai Kangai of Plot 25 Glen Forest, Borrowdale, and is the chairman of CFI Holdings.
Prosecutor Ms Sikhangele Mahlamvana alleges that sometime in 2009, Cde Kangai left his farm which he leased to a Mr Makuvise and Bhaureni remained at the farm.
It is alleged Bhaureni took one tractor disc harrow at the farm yard and went with it to Tama Farm where he offered it for sale to Langton Joseph Kamukosi who was not interested in buying it.
Bhaureni, it is alleged, left the disc harrow at Tama Farm but later on dismantled it and removed some of its major components and took them to an unidentified person, leaving the frame.
He is said to have taken Cde Kangai’s security mesh wire (15 metres long).
Sometime in February last year, Cde Kangai returned to his farm and discovered that the disc harrow was missing.
He carried out investigations and was informed that Bhaureni had taken it and he reported the matter to the police.
Bhaureni, it is alleged, led the police and Cde Kangai to his place of residence in Hatcliffe, where Cde Kangai positively identified the security mesh wire. On the same day, he led police and Cde Kangai to Tama Farm, where he made indications relating to the alleged stolen disc harrow. The stolen disc harrow was valued at $4 800 and property worth $1 800 was recovered.
