Kangwa delighted by Mgadafi’s move to Azam

Azam midfielder Bruce Kangwa says he is very delighted that he will be playing alongside his fellow countryman Prince Dube who recently signed with the club.

This won’t be the first time for the duo to play in the same team as they once shared a home in Zimbabwe’s renowned football club, Highlanders.

Although the 22-year-old’s move might come as a great loss to Highlanders and the club’s fans, Kangwa admits he is happy that he will be playing side by side with Dube again.

“It’s a great feeling to have Mgadafi. We used to play together back in the day when I was in the books of ‘Bosso’ and knowing that we will be playing together again feels awesome,” said the nimble footed Kangwa.

On Monday, Dube penned a two-year contract with Tanzania’s Mainland premier league side Azam FC ahead of the new 2020/ 2021 season.

The striker becomes the third Zimbabwean at the East African club joining Bruce Kangwa and Never Tigere, who was on the books of defending champions FC Platinum.

In 2017, Dube left Bosso in search of greener pastures joining South African Premier Soccer League side Supersport United where he struggled to break into the team’s first eleven. His return home saw him become Zimbabwe’s 2019 soccer star of the year first runner-up.

On 7 September, Azam FC will take on Polisi in the opening match of the Vodacom Premier League (VPL) at Azam Complex.
