SELF-PROCLAIMED queen of Kanindo, Shantel Sithole, believes she has made it in showbiz due to good relationships.
The versatile diva, who sings gospel on a Kanindo beat, says unity will take her far.
She opened up ahead of the release of her second album titled Hard Talk on Thursday at the Rainbow Towers.
Shantel’s album is laden with 10 danceable tracks namely Kadhanzi Kesvoto featuring Mai TT, Sei Siki, Ndimi Baba, Mukunda weZion featuring Zhakata, Wewe Nibwana (ft) Dorcas Moyo, Mukuru (ft) her producer Gibson Makumbe, Taseta Bhomba (ft) Chipo and Terry, Jakachu (ft) Andy Muridzo and the title track Hard Talk, which she collaborated with Mudimba.
“We have been doing our preparations and we are humbled by the response we got from fellow artists who want to come and grace the big occasion on June 22,” said Makumbe.
“All the artists who featured on the album will attend this event, which is set to culminate into a huge celebration judging by the enquiries that we have received from top artists.
“The level of unity shown by the artists is really amazing and we hope to continue working together as one.”
Makumbe hailed Shantel for her creativity.
“Shantel has decided to be unique by singing gospel on a Kanindo beat.
“I still marvel at how she has mastered the beat which originated from East and Central Africa.
“I will be there for her as her producer. She is going places to say the least.
“We hope she will also learn from others, especially fellow artists, who are gracing the launch.
“We are looking forward to a great event,” he said.
