ALLIED Timbers chief executive Dr Joseph Kanyekanye left the group yesterday after agreeing on mutual separation with the board, chairman Mr Emmanuel Fundira said.

“Please be advised that the board of Allied Timbers and Dr Joseph Kanyekanye have amicably and mutually resolved to terminate the contract of employment of Dr Kanyekanye as group chief executive officer of Allied Timbers Zimbabwe effective February 16, 2015,” said Mr Fundira in a note to stakeholders.

Prior to the termination of his contract, Dr Kanyekanye was on suspension after the board raised several charges of misconduct against him. The suspension was meant to facilitate investigations into his conduct which was bordering on corruption, failure to observe operating procedures and gross insubordination.

Yesterday, Dr Kanyekanye confirmed “it is a mutual separation” but could not give details on whether the charges he was facing were dropped or could not be substantiated.
