Kariba town clerk lands Chitungwiza top post

trial for allegedly swindling the council of US$700 000. Local Government, Rural and Urban Development Minister Ignatius Chombo announced the appointment on Thursday. He said the appointment of Mr Makunde and his new team of heads of departments means the acting town clerk Mr Fungai Mbetsa and his team should leave council forthwith.
“They have to go now. They have stayed there long enough,” he said.
He said Mr Benjamin Gwenzi, a senior Ministry of Public Works official,  is the new director of housing and community services while Dr Gloria Gonese, formerly with the Harare City Health Services, is the new director of health services.
