JOHANNESBURG. — Twenty-one intrepid young racers are jetting off to Italy this week for the world karting championships at the acclaimed South Garda Kart track. The Rok World Finals in northern Italy, outside the city of Lonato, will see young racers from around the globe converge from this week for warm-up races in the form of the Autumn Cup this weekend, ahead of the Rok World Finals from October 16 to 19.
Aged seven to 22-years-old, the Engen Supa Kart Team South Africa racers from around the country have been meticulously preparing for several months ahead of the annual event which could catapult them onto the international racing stage.
The Engen Supa Kart South African team includes 14 racers from Gauteng, three from the Western Cape, two from the Free State, one from the Eastern Cape. — SuperSport.
