Pamuzinda Highway Xscape will on Sunday play host to one of Zimbabwe’s finest musicians Oliver Mtukudzi, in a solo act that would be the first of its kind at the joint in many years.
The grandmaster – who was recently appointed Zimbabwe’s Tourism Ambassador – is expected to deliver a top-drawer act, following similar such acts, not only in Zimbabwe but in the region in the last few weeks.
The affable gentleman of the guitar, who also boasts a top-drawer catalogue of hits that have made him a household name, will serenade his fans on Sunday afternoon.
Those who have attended Tuku’s shows will tell you that although his acts are somehow familiar, the acoustic master never fails to move you and, to all intents and purposes, make you stand on your feet and sing along.
Tuku will pave way for Suluman Chimbetu, whose act has greatly improved following the release of his album, “Non-Stop”.
There is no doubt that the two celebrated musicians will do a duet before Tuku leaves the stage.
Tawanda Chiraga, the marketing and communications manager of Pamuzinda, said the solo act by Tuku was meant to reconnect revellers with their families, away from home.
“We want our clientele to have the best of both lives, by offering our revellers an opportunity to have fun throughout the day without any reservations.
“It is against that background that we are having a family show with Tuku, so that we also afford the fans a chance to have fun with their families,” he said.
