ALL is set for the third edition of the Zambezi Challenge Rugby Sevens tournament to be held today at Old Georgians.

Cheetahs head coach Graham Kaulback believes the tournament has come at the right time as it will be used to fine turn some players who will be taking part in the Rugby Africa Challenge in a fortnight.  A total of nine teams will battle for honours and the Cheetehs will be represented by two teams — the White and Blue.

“We are happy to be having another edition of the Zambezi Challenge which will have nine teams for the men’s tournament and four teams for the women’s.

“The tournament is very crucial as it helps us assess some of the players and we are happy that we have several top players who are turning up for the tournament. These games give athletes game time and it is good that Zambezi has continued with its support,” said Kaulback.

The tournament will however be without defending champions Germany who won the last edition when they defeated the Cheetahs in the final at Harare Sports Club.

Zambia confirmed their availability and will add the foreign flavour to the tournament. Also missing in action will be former champions Spartans of Botswana.
