THE 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season is exploding with goals, drama and gripping storylines as the race for the Golden Boot intensifies while an emotional reunion between Chicken Inn coach Tonderai Ndiraya and his former club Scottland headlines this weekend’s fixtures.

A staggering 215 goals have already been scored after 13 rounds of action, underlining the attacking flair and competitiveness defining the local top flight.

Leading the deadly scoring charts is Herentals College striker Ralph Kawondera, who has emerged as the league’s hottest forward with eight goals.

Kawondera’s blistering form has turned him into one of the most feared strikers in the country as he continues carrying Herentals’ attacking hopes with ruthless finishing and consistency in front of goal.

Breathing down his neck are three players tied on six goals each, former Warriors star Khama Billiat, Dynamos hitman Jairos Kasondo and Hardrock FC forward Washington Navaya.

Billiat’s presence at Scottland has injected glamour and firepower into the reigning champions, while Kasondo continues to provide the goals for Dynamos in an otherwise inconsistent campaign.

Navaya, meanwhile, has quickly established himself as one of the breakout stars of the season with several influential performances for Hardrock. Dynamos have also benefited from Ghanaian attacker Frank Agyemang, who has scored four goals so far.

Other players on four goals include Ngezi Platinum Stars midfielder Marvelous Mukumba, Simba Bhora striker Harrison Masina and Scottland captain Walter Musona.

Hardrock’s fearless attacking football has also grabbed attention, with Wilfred Madzungu, Tinashe Mashaireni and Sambulo Semelane all contributing three goals each.

At CAPS United, Allen Mukombedzi, Ishmael Wadi and Takunda Benhura have each weighed in with three goals as Makepekepe continue searching for consistency.

Bulawayo Chiefs duo of Melikhaya Ncube and Godswill Gwara have also impressed with three goals apiece, while former champions Simba Bhora continue sharing goals across the squad through Webster Tafa and Harrison Masina.

Highlanders have relied on Mongameli Tshuma, Isaac Ngoma and Reason Sibanda for attacking inspiration as the league continues to produce thrilling contests week after week.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday where Ndiraya comes face to face with his former side Scottland in what promises to be a tense and emotionally charged showdown.

Ndiraya, who guided Scottland to the league title last season before parting ways with the club, will be desperate to prove a point against his former employers using the same tactical blueprint that delivered championship success.

Scottland coach Norman Mapeza will also be under pressure to deliver a positive result as his side battles inconsistency despite boasting some of the league’s biggest stars.

In their last five matches, Scottland have recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat, while Chicken Inn have managed two victories and suffered three defeats.

Scottland sit fourth on the table with 22 points while Chicken Inn are ninth with 18 points after 13 matches.

With the Golden Boot race heating up and crucial points up for grabs across the league, supporters can expect more fireworks, fierce rivalries and edge-of-the-seat football as the PSL season continues to gather momentum.
