Kenya arrests terror suspects

ab5ac8617e9159fe60157e1f3d948bafMOMBASA. — Three terror suspects were arrested as they attempted to register for a quick financial transaction line within Mwembe tayari area, local police in Kenya’s Mombasa city said yesterday.

Martin Asin, police boss of Mombasa, said the Mpesa agent alerted security agents who immediately arrested one of the suspects before raiding the guest house where they recovered the bullets.

The other two men were in the guest house and were arrested too.

According to police the suspects were in possession of six National Identification Cars IDs including Kenya wildlife Service’s KWS ID.

Asin said they have launched investigation to recover the rifles and arrest more accomplices.

The three were handed over to anti terrorism police and National intelligence Services Nis officers for further interrogation.

Asin said they have beefed up security in the coastal city to avert criminal and terror acts during the festive season celebration. — Xinhua.
